the murders and attempted murders. Kosta's mother, who was at the
trial, ran from the courtroom, shouting, "My son is innocent."
On November 14, 1990, Lori Henderson and Teja James, both of whom had
testified for the state at Kosta's trial, were each sentenced to four
years in prison for conspiring to commit first-degree murder and
attempted first-degree murder.
Newman Taylor, J. R testified at the Fotopoulos trial.
He later was released from jail, violated probation, was put in jail
again, and released again.
Mike Cox was released and became a Christian. He later returned to his
grandparents' home in Kentucky.
Of Peter Kouracos, David Damore says, "It is not unreasonable to say
that eyebrows are certainly raised concerning Kouracos. He seems to be
everywhere when events are about to happen. There are a lot of
questions concerning his relationship with Kosta. Certainly the most
vociferous defenders of Kosta Fotopoulas at his trial were Peter
Kouracos and his mother, Lydia."
No charges relating to the murders or attempted murders have been filed
against Peter Kouracos.
Vinnie Speziale works at an auto dealership in Daytona Beach.
Lisa Fotopoulas is fully recovered from her wound and suffers no ill
effects from the bullet, which remains in her brain. She is well and
happy and is today operating Joyland with her brother, Dina.
In January 1991 the body of Steno Paspalakis was exhumed at the request
of the family. A medical examination of the body revealed no toxin,
and no reason to believe that Mr. Paspalakis died from anything other
than an aneurysm.
Examiners did note that, since it had been three years since Steno's
death, no conclusion could be reached with certainty.
